The Can Do screen is where most of the system monitoring is done, and documentation, emails and SMS messages are generated

 

The Can Do screen shows all uncompleted items whose "comes after" activities are complete or completed actions whose communiques are pending. These are of course all the activities that you can now do. The number of days from today until anticipated completion is displayed, and shown in red if negative.

 

The list can be tailored by checking the required activity type (Milestones, Orders and Actions), communique types or by using the filter bars.

 

A sorting drop-down determines the display order.

 

A command button Refresh refreshes the grid. Do this after altering any completions. This will remove completed activities from the grid, but may cause others to be added as you can do them now because they come after the activity you have just completed

 

 

If any actions have a communique attached (Documents, Emails or SMS), they can be viewed using the radio buttons, and processed using the relevant command buttons. The layouts and distribution are set in the Actions tab of the Activites module

 

The Can Do module works closely with the optional  SMS Watchapplication to track completion dates and status of activities and respond to replies to SMS messages

SMS Completion Requests        SMS messages requesting completion status of all or selected activities are sent to the SMS recipient mobile phones.

RefreshRefreshes the schedule on all or selected visible jobs. This is equivalent to returning to the main screen and running refresh on all those jobs. This will remove completed activities from the grid, but may cause others to be added as you can do them now because they come after the activity you have just completed
LiveSends communiques on all or selected activities. The contents of these communiques are generated from the Layout assigned to each communique (in Activities).There are 4 types of Communiques generated:

 

Documents. These are then displayed and may be modified using the built-in word processor, or individually or batch printed.  These documents can also be viewed or edited from the documents tab in the main screen or the Jobs module/Documents tab in the parent Databuild system.

 

Embedded Emails. The body of the email message is generated from a standard note as specified in Activities/Actions. The subject of the email is the first line of the body

 

Attached Emails. The body of the email message is set by the system, or generated from a Standard Note called "EAttBody" (if it exists). The subject of the email is set by the system, or generated from a Standard Note called "EAttSub" (if it exists). A document file generated from the layout is attached.

 

SMS Messages. The actual text is generated from a standard note specified in Activities/Actions. Note that these messages are separate to the ones generated as SMS Completion Requests

 

On completion, you are given the opportunity to declare the activity complete.
