The GL System Dates and Periods defines the accounting period parameters and must be set so that GL posting and reporting is accurate. The above sample screen is a typical set-up; however as a general rule the Allow Posting date ranges would be for the current year only or less.
The Databuild Accounting System allows the recording and reporting of three accounting years concurrently, and thus allows retrospective posting to the previous closed year.
You should only change the Allow Posting From and Until dates as required, and not the other four Dates above, nor change the Opening Balances Hold setting. These other dates are set at installation time and automatically when the GL Year End closure is performed.
