Summary

The Setup Wizard is a quick way of configuring your system. It is run automatically the first time your system runs.

After that  it can be run from the Wizard button.  on the logon screen

B4 Wizard

 

There are 4 steps to configuring your System:

 

1. Initial Setup

 

Accept or Alter your Common database name.The system will create a new Common database if none exists

 

Nominate a data folder. This is the default folder where Access databases and custom reports are stored

 

Nominate a documents folder. This is the folder below which system generated documents are stored. Sub Folders are setup in Layout Files

 

Select a background color for the Logon Screen and companies that have not had their own background color set
Select a data provider
If the data provider is not Microsoft Access, you will also need to enter your Server Name

 

2 Companies

On new systems, an initial company and databases will be setup based on  Registrationinformation.

 

Select companies (or create new ones using the new button) then

               Select or create new Job and System databases using the file and  newbuttons

 

Select a background color for each company. This lets you know instantly which company you are working on.

 

3 Users

On new systems, an initial user and database will be setup.

 

Select a user (or create new onesusing the new button) then

               Select or create new  User databaseusing the file and new buttons

 

4 Sample Databases

Databuild ships with several sample databases.Use this tab to select sample databases for any company you have created.

 

While the Setup wizard is designed to give you a flying start, it can be used at any stage to view or modify your setup. It is really a subset of the larger Setup module
