Can I run Databuild directly, without going through LaunchDatabuild.exe ?

Yes, but then your seats and users do not show up in Databuild Hub, and each workstation must be individually registered. In this case, it uses the old ini file and common database, so this can cause some confusion.

Can I run older Databuild versions through LaunchDatabuild.exe. ?

Yes, but version numbers, ini file, comm0n database and user details will not be visible in DBW Hub.

Can I run more than one hub ?

No

Can I use the Hub for a single user system ?

Yes. Just install the Hub on the same workstation. You gain the benefits of update downloading and online registration.

Can I stop users bypassing Databuild Hub ?

Yes, you can set a checkbox in DBW Hub to prevent users from running Databuild directly. However this has no effect on older versions.

Can I use Terminal services or Citrix with Databuild Hub ?

Yes. In fact Databuild Hub makes these installations much simpler

How does Databuild licencing work ?

Databuild is licenced on a per seat basis. This is not the number of users of the system currently logged in, but the total number of workstations authorised to use the software

Can I have more than one user on any workstation ?

Yes. There is no limit on the number of users, only on the total number of workstations. However, things would get a bit busy with too many users on the one machine.

Can I shift a licence from workstation to workstation ?

Yes. Simply delete the unwanted one in Databuild Hub, and the new one will be added next time you run the software on the new workstation

Can Anyone access Databuild Hub ?

In theory yes, but a wise network administrator would severely limit access. You can locate the hub program on a local drive accessible only by your administrator.
