User Definable Fields

Top  Previous  Next

User Definable fields appear throughout Databuild.  They let you customize your system to better suit your business.

User Definable fields appear as grids on a UDF tab in Contacts, Suppliers and Jobs in DBW32 and  Quotes and Models in Front End and the main screen in Job Control

B4 UDF

The Grid contains 3 columns:

Current UDF                        Specific to the current record (max 255 Characters)

A drop-down lets you select from a list of UDF prompts, edited in UDF Prompts

Edit Column                        Loads the Edit Prompts module. To edit select the Edit UDF prompt EditUDFpromtsButton

By default, the system allows 10 UDFs in each location, but this number can be set in Setup/Defaults.

This setting is store locally so that some machines can see 10 UDFs and others 20 (say). This can be useful in preventing access to sensitive information.

UDFs can be accessed in search routines and any custom reports
