Databuild incorporates a fully functional word processor, similar in operation to Microsoft Wordpad.

 

It is used throughout the system to edit reports and RTF layouts

       Default Save As                        Specified the default format for saving documents

       Save As                        Documents can be saved as text, RTF, Word, Adobe (.pdf) or HTML. Layouts can only be saved as .RTF

       Page Setup

       Make Default Layout *                The current layout becomes default for set layout type

       Import Layout                        Obsolete Databuild Fixed Format layout (.lay files) are converted into RTF layouts

       Select All

       Combine documents                Only available when using custom reports or orders, and multiple files have been selected.

                                       Combines selected files into a single file which can then be saved. Not available for .pdf files

       Fields Report *                        Lists all special fields

Insert Menu

       File ...                                Inserts external files, pictures etc

       Image                                Inserts images at the current position

       Header                                Switches to Header editing

       Footer                                Switches to Footer editing

       Text Frame                        Inserts a new Text Frame

       Object                                Inserts a new Object

       HyperLink                        Hyperlink insertion has 2 modes:

 

Layouts: inserts as in {Hyperlink:http://www.databuild.com.au}, rather than as a hyperlink

This is so that you can use special fields to specify the hyperlink which is then created when the document is created from the layout

 

Documents: Hyperlinks are created directly as in  http://www.databuild.com.au.Clicking the hyperlink loads the default browser and navigates to the link

               Table                        Inserts a table. To change, Insert or Delete rows and columns

               Column To Left

               Table                        This action deletes from the current row to the end of the table

                                       To delete the whole table, first position the cursor in the first row

All_None        Select or Deselect files. Only available when viewing multiple files (custom reports and orders)

delete        Delete current or selected text

Clear        Clear whole document

Printer        Print document

Spell Check        SpellCheck

* Items marked with an asterix are only visible in Layout Editor mode.

Other items may be displayed depending on current actions, or whether documents are read only
