Don Norton, and David Kelly co-founding partners of Databuild recognised the potential for better estimating systems nearly thirty years ago when working for a company that supplied roof trusses to builders.

In September 2008 ITW aquired the business operations of Databuild as part of its  construction products division.  This partnership will allow Databuild to continue to be the premier business management system in the construction industry.
